To celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Entente Cordiale, the Queen paid a State Visit to France. The current and former Entente Cordiale scholars were invited to Toulouse to take part.
After many hours of flying together, the Franco-British contingent toured Toulouse together.
Toulouse is a fine old town, made mostly of reddish brick.
It's also got some fine old buildings in it.
Later on in the evening, Entente Cordiale scholars past and present gathered for dinner on a canal barge.
We enjoyed a Toulousain dinner, and the warm conversation that flitted across languages every few minutes or so.
During the cheese-course, Sir Christopher Mallaby, the inventor of the scheme, called us to order.
We then discussed ways to improve the scheme for the benefit of scholars, alumni and sponsors.
