15-24 September 2003 - Great Britain |
My summer holiday this year was in late summer, with a long road trip to the Isle of Skye and back |
First stop, Oxford in the gorgeous sunlight. |
My punt was followed by two friendly, inseparable and apparently homosexual mallard ducks. |
Two nights in the Lake District followed. |
And then to lovely Edinburgh, for another two nights. |
Serious rain hid the glories of Glencoe. |
The Ben Nevis area was a wonderful place to drive, with hillocks that could give the feeling of weightlessness if sped over. |
That said, I was seriously underequipped for mountaineering. |
I finally found the castle from the BBC ad. |
Skye was a wild, empty, wierd wasteland. |
 Extraordinarily pretty though. |
 And wonderful sunlight. |
Snow-capped peaks right next to the beach. |
Picture-postcard pretty, even in its "main town". |
And finally a few days in London, where I could gawp at David Blaine and his ridiculous starvation trick. |
