15-24 September 2003 - Great Britain

My summer holiday this year was in late summer, with a long road trip to the Isle of Skye and back

First stop, Oxford in the gorgeous sunlight.

My punt was followed by two friendly, inseparable and apparently homosexual mallard ducks.

Two nights in the Lake District followed.

And then to lovely Edinburgh, for another two nights.

Serious rain hid the glories of Glencoe.

The Ben Nevis area was a wonderful place to drive, with hillocks that could give the feeling of weightlessness if sped over.

That said, I was seriously underequipped for mountaineering.

I finally found the castle from the BBC ad.

Skye was a wild, empty, wierd wasteland.

Extraordinarily pretty though.

And wonderful sunlight.

Snow-capped peaks right next to the beach.

Picture-postcard pretty, even in its "main town".

And finally a few days in London, where I could gawp at David Blaine and his ridiculous starvation trick.
